Hello, I'm Melinda Knox.
I have been photographing various subjects since I was a kid and my love for photography continues to grow. While in elementary school my family and I traveled to many different places across the country. After receiving my first camera I began taking photos of everything along the way. After returning home I would then anxiously await for school to begin so I could share these moments with my new class and teachers. Every teacher I had gave me the same advice: I should study photography when I get older. Sadly to say that when the time came I did not follow their advice but had found other interests instead.
After many years, I picked up the camera again. My husband and I started mini-vacations and wanted pictures to remember these moments by. As like before, I couldn't wait to share these photos with family and friends. Once again, the encouragement I was given was to pursue photography. This time around I listened and enrolled in photography courses. I have not regretted this decision but have regretted not listening to my teachers all those years ago.
Today my husband and I enjoy scenic car rides and I always have camera on hand because you never know what you might encounter on one of these trips. I love the challenge of capturing wildlife, trying to capture what you see without any sudden movement or sound that will spook the subject off. I have always had a love for animals, each one has their own personality and trying to catch that in a photo is a joy for me. Scenery is so beautiful and even though changes aren't always visible to the naked eye, someday it will be noticed. Being able to capture a moment that will soon become history fascinates me.
The world that we live in offers many beautiful and unique things to encounter and being able to capture these experiences is why I find photography so appealing. I hope you have enjoyed my work as much as I enjoy being able to share it with you.
